Victor Von Doom's New INFAMOUS IRON MAN Suit Concept Art Revealed

Despite the cold shoulder Marvel is giving its first superhero family, Dr. Doom is actually thriving in the world of comics. After last year’s Secret Wars, Victor Von Doom became God, finally had the scars on his face removed, and now he will don his very own Iron Man suit. Slated to be titled The Infamous Iron Man, Victor Von Doom has been announced as one of the two new Iron Avengers, with the other of course being Riri Williams, a 15-year-old African American girl who built her own Iron Man suit in her dorm room. Alex Maleev, the artist for the upcoming Infamous Iron Man series, has provided us with some early looks as to how Dr. Doom’s new suit will look this fall.

Dr. Doom is easily my favorite villain and I could not be any more excited for a shift in the status quo. Although we have seen something similar to this with Dan Slott’s Superior Spider-Man run, in which Dr. Octopus took over Peter Parker’s mind/body and became Spider-Man for a year and a half, I think this stands for so much more. Dr. Doom will not be impersonating Tony Stark, but rather becoming his own version of the Iron Man. I would compare this more to Lex Luthor turning over a new leaf in Forever Evil. Either way, I absolutely love the design and it definitely has Doom’s classic feel to it. How do you think the suit looks? Or does the idea of Dr. Doom becoming your new Iron Man totally freak you out?

star-trek-the-next-generation-uniform-bedding-set1

The decor of a Star Trek fans' home just wouldn’t be complete without this Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform-inspired bedding! This is one of the coolest and geekiest bedding designs that I’ve seen in awhile. It’s available in Twin XL, Queen, or King, and it’s available at ThinkGeek. It’s actually a really slick-looking bedding design.

This Star Trek The Next Generation Bedding Set will let you tumble out of bed in the morning, completely relaxed and ready for that first cup of coffee or tea, Earl Grey, hot. The fitted sheet features a Delta Shield pattern, and the four solid Rank Pips printed on one side of the pillowcases declare you a Captain. The duvet cover, red, naturally, because you’re Command, has a Communicator Badge printed on it. Non-functioning, which is good because bed-dialing someone would be even more embarrassing than butt-dialing them.

The price ranges from $49.99 to $89.99. If you want to purchase one, click here.

wealthy-young-adults-are-forced-to-survive-on-an-island-in-trailer-for-billionaire-ransom

We’ve got a trailer for an interesting new film coming out called Billionaire Ransom which features a bunch of spoiled rich young adults whose parents have them snatched out of their privileged lives and taken to an island where they will learn to change their bad behavior. That island is then taken over by a group of mercenaries who take them hostage and are holding them for ransom. The kids are then forced into a situation where they have to fight back and survive. I guess who you root for in this movie all depends on your opinion of rich people. Here’s the synopsis:

The story follows a group of over-privileged, out-of-control young adults who have been sent by their frustrated, billionaire parents to a tough-love wilderness school on a remote island off the coast of Scotland. Kyle (Sumpter) and Amy (Tonkin) find themselves in this group as a last opportunity for them to take responsibility for their own lives and abandon their reckless ways, or risk being disinherited. Suddenly, a group of mercenaries led by Billy Speck (Westwick) invade the island and hold the privileged lot hostage for the largest ransom in history: one billion dollars. When Kyle learns they are all to be killed even if the ransom is paid, their wilderness survival training is the only hope of outwitting the mercenaries and staying alive.

The film was directed by filmmaker Jim Gillespie (Venom, I Know What You Did Last Summer), from a screenplay by Alexander Ignon. It opens in theaters and on VOD August 19th.

The Ninja Turtles and Daredevil Team Up to Fight Crime in Fan Art

Here’s a team up of comic book characters that would be fun to see! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Daredevil team up to fight crime in New York City! The fan art you see here was created by Marco D’ Alfonso and it’s a done in the style of a comic cover for a fake series called Daredevil Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Ooze. I could see Daredevil and Rafael being best buds. Hell, an adventure with just the two of those characters would be awesome enough.

10 Popular PG-13 Movies That Were Originally Rated R

I have a video here from Screen Rant that lists ten PG-13 movies that were originally rated R and there was only one on the list I knew about and that was Raiders of the Lost Ark. Some of the other films listed include The Wolverine, Titanic, Spider-Man, Galaxy Quest, and The Avengers. I was kind of shocked to learn that some of these actually got slapped with an R-rating at first.

To most movie fans, the rating assigned before it hits theaters is known months ahead of time, usually from the first script. The truth is a lot more surprising, since a shockingly small amount of sex, violence, or foul language can completely change a movie in the eyes of those rating. Here are 10 Famous Movies Originally Rated R.

The Cyclotron is a new bicycle technology being developed that is inspired by the movie Tron. This is the first hubless smart bicycle. It’s being called the next step in bicycle evolution and the future of cycling. It’s been in development for three years from Cyclotron Cycles and they currently have a Kickstarter to help fund the project further.

Not only does the bike have hubless wheels but it also has airless tires, a carbon fiber frame, integrated LED illumination, a wealth of sensors, an optional electronic gearbox, an app, and more. You can see a full functioning prototype of the bike in the video below.

It’s being designed to look cool and also include “unmatched functionality” to help make your life easier. From having fun, to shopping, to taking your kids to the park, this bike is being made to help. I’m totally sold on it!

Grand Admiral Thrawn is Coming to STAR WARS REBELS!

grand-admiral-thrawn-is-coming-to-star-wars-rebels

In case you haven't been watching the live stream panel for Star Wars Rebels at Star Wars Celebration, it was announced by showrunner Dave Filoni that fan-favorite character Grand Admiral Thrawn will be joining the third season!

Thrawn was introduced in the expanded universe in the novel Heir to the Empire, which was written by Timothy Zahn and published back in the 90s. That was the first of a trilogy of novels known as the "Thrawn trilogy". This will be the first time we see the character brought to life outside of those books and it's cool that his character will actually become canon.

Heir to the Empire offered fans our first story of what happened in the Star Wars universe after the Empire was taken out during the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi. The story isn't part of the current canon, but Thrawn is the character that took on the command of the remaining forces of the Empire to battle the New Republic.

In regards to bringing in the character Filoni says, "It was important to do it right," and then went on to reveal that they had cast Lars Mikkelsen to provide the voice of the character.

In Star Wars Rebels, Thrawn is brought in to help the Empire take down a Rebel group that is giving them problems. This is an intense and badass character. In the trailer they showed Thrawn says:

"I will pull the Rebels apart piece by piece. They'll be the architects of their own destruction."

I love that they actually pulled this character out of the expanded universe and I'm excited to see how they utilize him as in the series as an actual canon character.

The trailer for Star Wars Rebels Season 3 has been released online! It premiered at Star Wars Celebration during the panel for the series where it was announced that Grand Admiral Thrawn would be introduced in the series. You will get to see your first footage of him in this trailer and as you'll see, he's going to be a painful thorn in the Rebel's side.

The trailer contains over three minutes of exciting awesomeness and this next season looks like it's going to be even better than Season 2! I can't wait to see how the events teased in the trailer playout over the course of the series.

It was also revealed during the presentation that a new character would be joining the series named Bendu, who is an ancient and powerful character that will be voiced by classic Doctor Who actor Tom BakerStar Wars Rebels Season 3 will air on Disney XD this Fall. Enjoy the trailer!

First Look at Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso in STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

During the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story presentation at Star Wars Celebration yesterday, Lucasfilm offered fans their first look at Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso in the film. You can see that image of him above.

Galen is the father of Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso. The actor didn't reveal too much more about his character, but there have been rumors in the past he will have direct ties to the Empire, and may even have had a hand in building the Death Star. It was previously explained:

Mads Mikkelsen (Galen appears to be his name in the film) is kind of the key to the film in a way. He is a scientist that took over the Geonosian Death Star project. He solved several of the flaws the Empire could not and is sort of a revered person in the Empire for his contributions. However, Mikkelsen’s character is a Robert Oppenheimer-type character. Oppenheimer helped design the atomic bomb only to say, “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” The guilt “Galen” feels for his contributions to the Empire become too much and he defects, attempting to make things right. In order to do this, he enlists the help of his only daughter….

I guess we'll find out if these rumors are true or not when the movie is released on December 16th, 2016.

Here’s a fun and informative flowchart that breaks down each of the noble houses' characteristics in Game of Thrones. Each house is defined by their unique characteristics and by using this flowchart, you can find out which house best suits you. The chart comes from Lucidchart who says:

Each Noble House in Game of Thrones can be defined by a handful of characteristics. We believe most people fall into one of these groups...and if you don’t, off to the Night’s Watch you go!
Are you ruthless like the Boltons or honorable like the Starks? Maybe you’re a bit of both, which makes you a Lannister. Are you the person in your family who insists on lighting all the fireworks on the 4th of July? You Targaryen!
Follow the flowchart to see where you fit. If there’s one thing that unites all of us, it’s this: Hodor. Hodor? Hodor.

David Goyer is Developing a New DARTH VADER VR Experience with ILMxLAB

It was announced during Star Wars Celebration that Industrial Light & Magic’s ILMxLAB is working on a new VR experience for Star Wars fans that will focus on Darth Vader. To help bring the project to life they hired screenwriter David Goyer to help them develop it. Goyer is best known for working on films such as Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

This will be a story-based experience that will revolve around the legendary Sith Lord. When talking about the project Goyer explained:

“When we looked at all the characters, places, and worlds in the Star Wars universe available to us, we asked ourselves, ‘What haven’t we seen before? Who are we curious about?’ Darth Vader is the perfect ambassador to usher us into the Star Wars VR universe.”

That's an interesting statement because I feel like we've seen a lot about Darth Vader already. There are no details on what the story will entail but I imagine it will explore some different aspects of Darth Vader's life that we don't know. It will be fun to see how they do that with VR technology.

They also announced that the Star Wars VR experience Trials on Tatooine will be made available to fans for free next week on Monday, July 18th, and here's the trailer for that showing you what it involves.

It's not really a game because you aren't controlling a character, you’re just more of an observer who can look can look around and explore the VR experience. Looks pretty cool!

Cool Alternate Black Panther Character Designs For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Marvel concept artist and character designer Andy Park has released a few new alternate character designs for Black Panther from Captain America: Civil War. I thought the final costume design they ended up with was perfect and these concept design aren’t too far away from that style, but the designs are still very clearly different, especially with the masks. But there are also some differences with the body suit as well. These designs have a sleek cool look to them, but in the end, I’m a fan of the final design. It will be interesting to see what changes they make to the costume when the Black Panther solo film rolls around.

Sega’s RENT-A-HERO Video Game is Getting a Feature Film Adaptation

Sega’s 1991 video game Rent-a-Hero is getting a big screen adaptation and Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink is set to direct the film, which he will also co-write with Jeff Morris. This came completely out of nowhere! This game hasn’t even crossed my mind since it was released.

Rent-a- Hero was a role-playing action video game series released by Sega that put a large emphasis on humor, which is why Pink is the guy who was brought in to direct it. It actually sounds like the movie could be a lot of fun.

According to THR, the story will follow “a slacker genius as he joins a tech startup that is billed as an ‘Uber for heroes,’ only to find out that company insiders are planning on weaponizing the technology, leaving the protagonist and his Rent-a-Hero comrades to stop them.”

In a statement, Pink said:

“As Sega fans, we are excited to dive into the near future with these Rent a Heroes, and explore what it means to be an everyday hero in a comedic, high-energy, action adventure.

This is the first of many films that Sega is hoping to develop into films. It was previously reveled that they were looking to adapt other games like Golden Axe, Shinobi, Altered Beast, Virtua World, and more.

It’s interesting that they are starting out with Rent-a-Hero. Hopefully it does well for them so they can adapt some of the other classic games into movies.

“Since I get the impression it’s acceptable to dress up as an animal person at AC (ANTHROCON) I took the opportunity to make a costume out of Rue, my D&D character, which I’ve been wanting to do for a while.”

The attention to detail and care that was put into this the creation of this costume is amazing. Creepy…but amazing. This is superb work.

Full Cast of Stephen King’s THE MIST Series Revealed, Including VIKINGS Star Alyssa Sutherland

The full cast for the upcoming TV series adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist has been revealed and the most notable star is Vikings actress Alyssa Sutherland.

The series will tell the story of "a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test." According to THR, Sutherland will play Eve Cunningham, “a wife and mother who fights to protect her teenage daughter from unknown dangers lurking both inside and outside the mist while facing down her past.”

I’m a big fan of this story. It one of my favorites that King has written and I also thought the movie directed by Frank Darabont was great, so I’m looking forward to this series and I have high hopes for it.

Hopefully, the creative team manages to bring some solid quality and creativity to the series project that will make fans of the story happy. Sharon Levy, exec vice president of original series at Spike, had this to say in a statement:

“The Mist will take audiences on a thrilling ride through a small town grappling with a mysterious and shocking horror.”

Sutherland has been fantastic in Vikings and I have no doubt she’ll be great in The Mist as well. Here is the press release that reveals the rest of the cast:

Gus Birney as “Alex Cunningham,” the teenage daughter of Kevin and Eve Cunningham. She’s always been the ‘good daughter,’ but her over-protective mother helps to kick-start a rebellious streak. Birney is currently appearing in “The Rose Tattoo” at the Williamstown Theater Festival opposite Marisa Tomei.
Dan Butler as “Father Romanov,” a priest who is caught in between modernity and tradition, he has lost his faith but clings to the ritual. Dan’s many credits range from Silence of the Lambs to Crazy, Stupid Love, on film; from “Frasier” to “Prayers for Bobby” to “From the Earth to the Moon,” on TV, as well as major roles on and off Broadway. Independent films include Chronic Town, Fixing Frank and his award winning writing and directing ventures, Karl Rove, I Love You and Pearl.
Luke Cosgrove as “Jay Heisel,” a popular local football superstar and the son of the town sheriff who finds himself accused of a heinous crime. Cosgrove was born in Nambour, Queensland and raised on the Sunshine Coast, spending much of his time in the ocean surfing. He started acting at the age of 11 and in his late teens, he moved to Brisbane to pursue his passion professionally, where he starred in several short independent Australian productions. This is his first television role.
Danica Curcic as “Mia Lambert,” a drug-addicted woman on the run and in search of a mysterious stash of money. Curcic is an award-winning Serbian-Danish actress. After several leading roles in productions at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen, she segued her career into feature films including On The Edge, The Absent One, Silent Heart, All Inclusive and Gold Coast. Her upcoming films include the WWII drama Across the Waters and Darling,  where she plays a world-renown ballerina. She will also appear in the Norwegian TV series “Nobel” about the Afgan War.
Okezie Morro as “Jonah Dixon,” a military man with amnesia. He can’t remember who he is. As the truth about his identity unravels, shocking secrets will be revealed. Morro is a graduate of the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His first film role was in the George Lucas-produced World War II epic Red Tails opposite Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard and David Oyelowo. He immediately followed up with a supporting role in World War Z. His television credits include MTV’s “Shuga” and BBC’s “New Tricks.”
Darren Pettie as “Connor Heisel,” the local alpha male, town sheriff and father to local football superstar Jay. He struggles to maintain order in an increasingly chaotic and dangerous situation, finding himself up against many who have it out for his accused son. A veteran of both screen and stage, Pettit recently wrapped production on Sidney Hall. His latest film, The Scarecrow, premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. In television, Pettie was last seen on “The Good Wife” (CBS), and additional recent credits include “Rizzoli & Isles” (TNT), “Scandal” (ABC), and “Pan Am” (ABC).
Russell Posner as “Adrian Garff,” an insecure young teenager who comes to the defense of his best friend Alex, after she is the victim of a brutal crime. A witness to the crime, he finds himself at the center of a controversy which threatens to rip apart the community. Russell Posner broke onto the scene with a starring role in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival darling The D Train with Jack Black and James Marsden. Prior to that, Posner had supporting roles in Louder Than Bombs with Gabriel Bryne and Jesse Eisenberg and John Turturo’s Fading Gigolo with Woody Allen.
Isiah Whitlock, Jr. as “Gus Redman,” a local mall manager. When a new society forms from the mist survivors at the mall, Gus will have to decide if he will take the role of leader and exactly how far he will go to keep order. Whitlock recently completed filming Warner Bros Chips, directed by Dax Shepard, and the Independent film Human People. He also recently appeared in Amazon’s Chi-Raq directed by Spike Lee and the remake of Disney’s Pete’s Dragon being released this August. On television, Whitlock starred as ‘Senator Clay Davis’ on the acclaimed HBO series “The Wire.” He currently recurs on HBO’s Emmy-winning comedy series “Veep” as ‘Secretary of Defense General George Maddox.’ He will next be seen starring this fall in the FX series “Atlanta” and FOX’s “Son of Zorn.”
