Earlier this year we learned that Neil Gaiman is writing another episode of Doctor Who for its seventh season. We now have a some detail on what that story will involve!
Executive producer Steven Moffat has confirmed Gaiman's statements that he is writing a script for the current season and that it features the return of the Cybermen! The Cyborg villains have been trying to take down the crime lord since 1966, and they were last seen in 2011's episode "Closing Time."
Deadline reports that the episode will air next spring on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US. It will co-star Life’s Too Short‘s Warwick Davis, EastEnders‘ Tamzin Outhwaite, and Being Human‘s Jason Watkins. The episode will the directed by Stephen Woolfenden, a second unit director on some of the Harry Potter films.
Gaiman won a Hugo Award for the last episode he wrote, "The Doctor's Wife," and I can't wait to see how he tackles the Cybermen! Are you excited to hear that Gaiman's episode will include the Cybermen?
