Fright Night actress Imogen Poots has been cast in the lead female role in DreamWorks big screen adaptation of the video game Need For Speed. She joins Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul who was cast in the film earlier this month.
From what we know of the movie, it will tell an original story that is not based on an individual game. It is described as being a "fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise. In Need for Speed, the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat."
Act of Valor director Scott Waugh is developing the film based on a script written by George and John Gatins. The movie is set to start shooting next year and will be released on February 7th 2014.
With the promising cast they've assembed so far, I'm looking forward to seeing how this movie turns out.
