Let's take a break from the epic Star Wars news that broke today, and talk about Bryan Singer directing X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's official! When Matthew Vaughn left the project it was reported that FOX was looking to get Singer in the director's chair, and they actually got him.
Singer launched the X-Men film franchise back in 2000, and the first two movies he directed were great. It wasn't until Brett Ratner took over that things fell apart. I enjoyed Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, and I would have loved to see him direct the sequel, but I'm also excited that Singer is coming back to the franchise. He'll end up doing a great job.
Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence are all set to reprise their roles in the film that Fox hopes to release on July 18th, 2014. Vaughn is still attached as a producer.
Are you excited to hear that Singer is officially back to direct another X-Men movie?
