It looks like James Mangold's The Wolverine will be presented to us in lackluster 3D. According to StarkIndustries.ru Twitter, Fox Russia has officially confirmed that the movie will be in 3D. This will be the first X-Men movie to be released in the third dimension.
I just think we should assume from here on out that any big tentpole film is going to get the 3D treatment. I'm not a big fan of the 3D gimmick at all, but the studios are making money off it, and that's why we'll continue to see more and more of them.
The film is set to open in theaters on July 26th, 2013, and it stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
The story for The Wolverine takes place in the present after the events of X-Men 3, and is based "on the celebrated comic book arc that finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel clashes with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed."
What do you think about The Wolverine being released in 3D?
