It seems like the only movies we've seen Samuel L. Jackson in over the last few years have been Marvel movies. Well, he's now going to use those S.H.I.E.L.D. skills to train teenagers how to be assassins in his next film Barely Lethal.
Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) is set to play a 16-year-old international assassin named Megan who is raised at a boarding school that trains kids to be assassins. She has a quirky sense of humor but is clueless about normal life. She ends up faking her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school, where she discovers dealing with popularity is just as hard as living life as an assassin. Jackson will play her mentor who trains her in the program.
Kyle Newman (Fanboys) is directing the film from a script written by John D’Arco. This sounds like a fun concept, and I hope it turns out good. I thought Fanboys was great, and this film should give Newman a chance to show everyone what he's got.
