Lincoln director Steven Spielberg and actor Daniel Day-Lewis recently spent 42 talking about their latest amazing looking film project and answering some questions about the long awaited historical epic. I've always been fascinated with the Abraham Lincoln and Civil War history, and I've been waiting for a movie like this to be made for years! I couldn't be happier that Spielberg was finally able to make it happen, and that Day-Lewis was able to take on the role.
I have no doubt this movie is going to be nominated for several awards over the next few months, and it will most likely win a bunch of them. I haven't seen the movie yet, but you can already tell it's going to be that good.
The movie also stars Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace, James Spader, Hal Holbrook, and Tommy Lee Jones. Lincoln will open in limited release on November 9th, 2012, and will begin rolling out nationwide on November 16th. Hope you enjoy the Q&A session!
The movie focuses on the Lincoln’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come. The story is based in part on the Doris Kearns Goodwin book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln.
