Shia LeBeouf is in talks to star alongside Brad Pitt in David Ayer's upcoming World War II tank movie Fury. As a fan of the WWII movie genre, this sounds like it going to be a great flick!
The story is set in 1945 as Nazi Germany collapses, and LeBeouf will play a member of a five man Sherman tank crew who are on a mission behind enemy lines. I can see LeBeouf in a film like this, I'm sure he'll do fine, especially with an ensemble cast. I'm curious to see who they end up casting as the rest of the tank crew.
The director previously said that the goal is to "bring a fresh execution to the genre," adding, "What these men went through is worthy of a complex, honest portrayal. This will have incredible, visceral action and complex rich characters. I plan to bring tank combat to life in a way that lands with a modern audience."
I've enjoyed the films that Ayer has made. The last film he made was End of Watch, and the next one that we'll see from him is Ten, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.
