Entertainment Weekly has released their new Man of Steel magazine cover featuring a new image of Henry Cavill as Superman. A similar image previously leaked out, but this gives us another solid look the character. When talking to the magazine about the film Zack Snyder revealed that there’s no Kryptonite in the movie, explaining that the only fresh option was not to use it, which I thought was really interesting.
There's a few other quotes from the actors in the film, such as Cavill who says, "Although he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties." Amy Adams then goes on to discuss her character Lois Lane saying, "I think she’s very transient. She’s ready to pick up and go at a moment’s notice. I think that definitely could be part of what she sees in Superman — not really laying down roots, not developing trust." Producer Chuck Roven added,
You want to give the audience great spectacle. You want them to go to the movie, be eating their popcorn and be like, ‘Wow!’ But it’s just not good enough to give them the ‘Wow.’ You want them to be emotionally engaged. Because if you just have the ‘wow,’ ultimately you get bludgeoned by that and you stop caring.
It sounds like they actually got Superman right this time, and I have high hopes that it will be an incredibly mind-blowing experience.
The movie is scheduled to be released in 3D, 2D and IMAX on June 14th!
