James Wan's new horror film The Conjuring looks like it's going to scare the hell out of audiences. It looks like an incredibly well made movie that horror fans are going to love. Wan talked about the film at WonderCon recently and revealed that he shot it to be a PG-13 movie. The MPAA ended up giving it an R rating though because of how scary it was. They told him there was nothing in particular that he could cut out of it to bring it down to PG-13, overall it's just too damn scary! It looks like it will live up to those expectations.
The movie also has an incredible cast of actors that include Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, and Sterling Jerins. One of the main reasons Wan took on the project was because it was based on a true story. Here's the synopsis...
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
The movie is set to haunt theaters on July 19th, 2013. Watch the newest trailer, and let us know if you think it's going to be as scary as the MPAA says it is.
