A new trailer has been released for the upcoming drama Greetings From Tim Buckley, which is based on the rise of musical artist Jeff Buckley. Buckley was a very talented musician whose life was cut short when he died unexpectedly at the age of 30 in 1997. The movie was directed by Dan Algrant (People I Know, Naked in New York), and it stars Penn Badgely (Gossip Girl) as Jeff; Imogen Poots as Buckley's love interest, Allie; and Ben Rosenfield as Jeff's dad, Tim. The movie looks fantastic and everyone looks like they do a terrific job. I'm a fan of Buckley's music, and I'm looking forward to seeing this. Here's the synopsis for the film...
In 1991, a young Jeff Buckley rehearses for his public singing debut at a Brooklyn tribute show for his father, the late folk singer Tim Buckley. Struggling with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff forms a friendship with an enigmatic young woman (Imogen Poots) working at the show and begins to discover the powerful potential of his own musical voice. Greetings from Tim Buckley is filled with stirring musical performances and the memorable songs of a father and son who were each among the most beloved singer/songwriters of their respective generations. A presentation of Focus World, the alternative distribution label of Focus Features, and Tribeca Film.
Greetings from Tim Buckley will be released on VOD on April 16th, followed by a limited theatrical release on May 3rd. Are you familiar with Buckley's music, and are you looking forward to seeing this movie?
