A new photo has been released for Edgar Wright's upcoming comedy The World's End. It features the five main characters in the film played by Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, and Paddy Considine who reunite for a pub crawl that escalates into a struggle for humankind's future. It looks like this could be the beginning of their epic pub adventure. Pegg also previously explained, "When you've seen the film, you'll be able to relate each pub name to what happens inside." Here's the synopsis...
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
I'm a huge fan of both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and I imagine this next film is going to end up being just as entertaining. I can't wait to see it! The movie is set to be released two months earlier than originally planned on August 23rd, 2013.
