A KINGDOM HEARTS Animated Series May Be in the Works for Disney+

Here’s some exciting news. The popular video game franchise Kingdom Hearts may be getting a television series. According to some industry journalists including Emre Kaya and Skyler Shuler, Square Enix is making an animated (read CG) series in the works for Disney+ with the Disney voice actors expected to reprise their roles.

Now, there’s not much information on what the series would be about, whether a brand new story with new characters; delving more into existing characters; a retelling of the games; etc., but I think this has a lot of potential to be fun. I love the games and the characters are fantastic.

Maybe being turned into a series can help fans make sense of the highly convoluted story?

There is a #KingdomHearts series in the works at Disney+.

Disney originally wanted to make it but that didn't work out, so Square Enix was asked to create a pilot using Unreal Engine.
