Brett Ratner is gathering together his supporting cast for his upcoming Hercules film that star Dwayne Johnson in the title role. It's now being reported that Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt have also joined the cast which also includes Aksel Hennie and Rufus Sewell.
The film is being described as a "more grounded approach to the classic Greek hero and ditches the supernatural. Hercules is portrayed not as the son of Zeus but rather a mortal with a fearsome reputation. He leads a team of mercenaries on a job where all is ominously not what it appears."
McShane landed a nice part in the film and will play Amphiarus, "part priest, part prophet and part warrior who is Hercules’ counselor." There's no word on who the other new actors will play.
The movie has a pretty solid cast, unfortunately it's being directed by Ratner. The movie is based on the Radical Studios graphic novel.
