I can't wait for Warner Bros. to release another trailer for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel giving us a look at the action-packed awesomeness that we've all been hearing about! The trailers that we've seen show us virtually nothing, it's all been just a big tease so far. According to screenwriter David Goyer, the stuff we've seen is just the tip of the iceberg, and he explains that he's happy about the secrecy surrounding the film. Here's what he told Total Film,
It's something Chris [Nolan] tried hard to do with the Batman films. I'm genuinely pleased with how much secrecy we've been able to maintain. There's so much of the movie that people don't know, that hasn't been touched upon. The trailer's just the tiniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg.
It's so exciting to think about what could be in store for us. It's pretty amazing that they've been able to keep a lot of things secret, especially in this day and age when almost everything leaks out online. Goyer goes on to discuss the dark tone of the film and how it's a more hopeful story,
Relatable and realistic doesn't necessarily mean dark. I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic; Superman has always been a story about hope.
If we go off of what people who have seen the film are saying, Man of Steel is going to be epically badass!
The story follows a young boy who "learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind."
Man of Steel hits theaters in 3-D June 14th, 2013, and it stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner as Pa Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennixas as General Swanwick, Antje Traue as Faora, and Aylet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van.
