Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes just got a lot more awesome with the addition of Gary Oldman! He's just been cast in the film as the leader of the human colony. I guess if a human colony needs to be led, Oldman would be the guy to do it.
The actor joins Andy Serkis, who will reprise his role in the film as Caesar, Jason Clarke, and Kodi Smit-McPhee who are also part of the principal cast.
The sequel is set 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They also reveal that one part of the story will focus on a "group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco." The other part of the story will center on "intelligent ape Caesar [who struggles to] maintain dominance over his kingdom."
Oldman makes a great addition to any cast, and I'm sure he'll once again give us a great performance. I like how this movie is shaping up so far!
