Here's a trailer for a new thriller called Detour about a man that gets buried alive in his car and has to struggle to survive. I would absolutely hate to be buried alive in anything. Especially since I happen to get a little claustrophobic. I think I would just go insane if there was really no way out. This new film is basically Ryan Reynolds' Buried, only it takes place in a car.
The movie stars Neil Hopkins (Lost, Skyline) and Brea Grant (Heroes, Friday Night Lights). The story follows a man driving home who ends up being buried in a massive mudslide. Here's the full synopsis,
On the road to a high-powered lunch meeting, smooth-talking ad man Jackson Alder is brainstorming his next big pitch when he is blindsided by Mother Nature. Swallowed up by a devastating mudslide, he awakens to darkness. Alone underneath an avalanche of mud, his certainty of rescue gives way to a horrifying reality—no one is coming. With oxygen and time running out, Jackson clings to the unfinished life he left behind. Shedding his suit and surveying the limited tools he has at his disposal, Jackson refuses to go down without a fight. Pushing himself beyond his physical and mental boundaries, he must ask himself the ultimate question: What would you do to survive?
The movie will get a limited theatrical release and an iTunes release on March 29th. It looks like an interesting movie, but I probably won't end up watching it until it's released on Netflix. Check out the trailer!
