I'm looking forward to seeing what Zack Snyder has in store for Man of Steel. The movie looks unlike anything we've seen from Superman before, and that's really exciting. I liked the footage that was shown at Comic-Con, but I wish we would have been shown a little bit more of Superman.
In a recent interview with Cineplex magazine Man of Steel star Henry Cavill talked a little bit about the highly anticipated comic book film saying,
What I can say is that it's a modernization of the character and a very realistic view of one, obviously, very fantastic individual. It's an unreal situation, but it's approached from a very practical viewpoint. We wanted to make the character easier to identify with.
Cavill goes on to explain the importance of the character he plays,
It’s important to do the role justice. There are a lot of people relying on me to do this well. I gladly accept that responsibility, and it’s a great one to have because it’s a wonderful opportunity. I don't let the pressures get to me because that's going to hinder my performance and, therefore, let people down. So I choose to ignore the pressure side of it and focus on doing justice to Superman.
I think Cavill will end up doing a solid job in the role, he's got the look, and I think he has the acting chops to pull it off as well. The movie hits theaters on June 14th, 2013, and co-stars Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni and Russell Crowe.
I can wait to see the epic battle between Superman and and General Zod. I have a feeling there's going to be aspects of this film that end up blowing us away, and I think that will be one of them. What are you looking forward to most about this movie?
