Many of us already knew that we would see a Batman: Arkham City follow-up, as it has been talked about in the past, and it was rumored that Rocksteady Games was working on it last year. I had no idea it would be released later this year though! The news was announced during Warner Bros. 2012 Q4 Earnings conference call. Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer John K. Martin revealed the news in the following statement,
We also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013.
We previously learned that the Arkham City sequel would be influenced by the 1950s Silver Age of DC comics, and that it would feature the moment when Joker and Batman first met, as well as the Justice League. Not many other details are known, but stay tuned and we'll get you more information on the game as it becomes available.
The new game may end up being called Batman: Arkham Universe.
