As you already know, on top of Star Wars episodes seven through twelve that Disney plans on developing, we're also going to see the studio develop some stand alone Star Wars films set in the massively epic universe that George Lucas has created. The one I'm most excited about that I'm sure will eventually happen somewhere down the line is one that focuses on Boba Fett. That one should be done by director Joe Johnston who actually has a film pitch for the movie. There should also be a film that focuses on Han Solo. Hell! Let's face it, there's a ton of stand alone Star Wars movies that could be made!
According to AICN it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm have decided that the first stand alone film will focus on Yoda! Looks like they decided to play it safe, and make it a family friendly character, but it's still pretty damn cool and it could be awesome! There's no word on if it will focus on a young Yoda or an old Yoda, or if Frank Oz will even be involved. It's hard to imagine Oz not being involved though, after all, he's Yoda! Other than Yoda being the main focus, there's no other details, so I can't wait to find out more info!
The site also mentions that they heard George Lucas had an idea for a Jabba the Hut story, but there's no word on if that's actually going to happen. The fact that Disney plans to make two to three Star Wars movies a year tells me that they will tell every story they want to tell. What do you think about Yoda being the fisrt film to get made? What other stand alone Star Wars film would you like to see get made?
