I grew up Roger Ebert's movie reviews, I used to watch Siskel & Ebert & The Movies, and I'd read them at Chicago-Sun Times. So it's always fun for me to see what his favorite movies are at the end of the year. I don't always agree with his choices, but there's always been a couple of films that we've agreed on. This year those films were Lincoln and End of Watch, I respect his other choices, some are surprising, and other aren't surprising at all. This year was a record year for Ebert having reviewed over 300 films! The guy is 70 years old, and with all of the trials and challenges he's had in his life, he obviously shows no signs of slowing down. Out of those 300 movies, here are his Top 10....
1. Argo
2. Life of Pi
3. Lincoln
4. End of Watch
5. Arbitrage
6. Flight
7. The Sessions
8. Beasts of the Southern Wild
9. Oslo, August 31
10. A Simple Life
He offers commentary on why he chose each of these films over at Sun Times, I suggest you read through it when you get a chance. What do you think of his list?
