Shows like the 1960s Batman, The Flash (1990), and Smallville paved the way, but there's no denying that superhero TV shows are hugely popular right now. And while many of them sprout from opposing source material at DC and Marvel and air on different networks — and sometimes even not a network at all (ahem, Netflix) — this infographic from The Daily Dot reveals that there aren't as many differences in these shows as you might think. Sure, there are surface level distinctions, but when you break it down, a lot of these shows share some pretty major storytelling components with each other.
