"Let's rock. Let's play. Let's record."

Here's a great trailer for an awesome looking documentary called Sound City, which is set to premiere at next year's Sundance Film festival. The documentary was directed by Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. The doc chronicles the history of the world famous Sound City Studios, located in Van Nuys, California.

It "explores the human element of music in an age of technology, and features performances of new music created exclusively for the film." Some of the musical artists that recorded at the studio include Neil Young, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, Guns 'N Roses, Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails and Metallica. Grohl had this to say in a statement,

As a first time director, I am humbled to be able to share my passion for songwriting and storytelling with this incredible cast of legendary musicians, as seen through the extraordinary story of America's greatest unsung recording studio, Sound City. Being included in this group of artists is a true honor, and the Sundance Film Festival is the perfect place to premiere a film about craft, integrity, and passion for art. I am over the moon!

Grohl came up with the idea for the film after he bought the studio's 1972 recording console that laid down tracks for several legendary musical artists. I love music, and this is one of those docs that I'm really excited about seeing while up at the festival. Below you'll find the full trailer and a teaser.
