Action film producer Joel Silver and his Silver Pictures banner have picked up a spec script for a new film called Straight Edge. Apparently, the script is much like the earlier 1980's action movies that Silver use to make like 48 Hours and Lethal Weapon.
According to THR the film is a "Los Angeles-set actioner that revolves around a heist gone wrong and follows a slew of colorful characters, ranging from corrupt cops to Southland gang members.
The spec comes from writer Rich Wilkes, who also wrote the Vin Diesel film XXX, which is a movie I didn't really care for. I'm not sure what we can really expect from Straight Edge, but like any film I hope it ends up entertaining audiences.
