Watch this test footage for a cool looking sci-fi short film called Prospect that tells the story of a girl and her father as they hunt for valuable resin on a toxic planet. When her father is attacked, she is forced to grow up quick.
The film is being produced by SHEP Films, a Seattle production company founded by Zeek Earl (Director, DP) and Chris Caldwell (Director, Writer). They are trying to raise funds for their film via Kickstarter so you can click here to learn more about the project. Here's some more information on the story.
PROSPECT is an unusual coming-of-age story following a teenage girl and her father on a foreign planet as they hunt for resin, the valuable byproduct of rare insects. Inspired in part by the California Gold Rush, the film features a planet of desperate individuals seeking their fortunes, governed only by natural law. When the father is attacked by a roving bandit, the daughter must take vengeance.
The creative team developing the film will be creating custom made costumes and props for the movie to give it a unique feel. It will also be shot in Washington's Hoh Rainforest as the setting for the alien planet. Check out the test footage that's been shot and let us know if you think it could be a good film!
