All you Call of Duty fans out there that picked up Treyarch's Black Ops II, I have some sad news for you today. It seems that the beloved Nuketown 2025 map is going bye-bye. Yup, you read that correctly.
David Vonderhaar, Game Design Director for Black Ops II, announced today that the Nuketown 2025 24/7 playlist will be going away now that Double XP weekend is over. On top of that, the only way you will be able to play the map again is by going to private custom matches.
If you have a "WTF" face right now, you are not alone. Plenty of people are online right now in an uproar over this news. This is mainly because one of the main selling points of pre-ordering the game was the fact that you would get to play on the Nuketown 2025 map, you know... like in the regular rotation of all the maps.
It almost seems as if we all were duped into pre-ordering this game based on this. Sure, Call of Duty would have sold a ton of copies regardless, we all know that. But with Nuketown being one of THE favorite maps from the original Black Ops, the news that there would be a new version of the map got everyone excited. It worked, because in the first day alone they sold over 500 million copies of the game.
Well now we all will have to wait until they do special events that feature the map, or group up with your friends or clan and have some private matches. Until then, we just will have to deal with it.
