Those who attended NYCC this year were treated to some fantastically creepy footage from James Wan's new horror thriller The Conjuring. This film looks awesome! If you liked Insidious, you're going to love the The Conjuring. Two photos have been released for the movie, but I can't wait for the trailer to be released so you can all see it for yourselves! The movie stars Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Tayor, and Vera Farmiga. It's set in the 1970s and based on the true story of a family with five kids that is haunted by several spirits, and one of them is supposedly an evil witch who is hell bent on torturing the poor family. The family doesn't know what to do so they call in a couple of paranormal investigators to check things out and explain the unusual activity in the house and help make it stop.
The supernatural events took place in the Rhode Island home of the Perron family. Wilson and Farmiga play a husband and wife team of demonologists and psychic investigators, Lorraine and Ed Warren, and this ends up being the most horrifying case of their career. Livingston and Taylor play the couple living in the house. The movie is actually based on the book that tells the events of what happen, House of Darkness, House of Light: The True Story by Andrea Perron.
The movie will be released in theaters on July 19th, 2013.
