Last week it was revealed that Neil Gaiman's new Doctor Who episode would feature the Cybermen. That episode is currently in production, and we have a few photos from the set featuring the Cybermen in action.
The episode will air next spring on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US. It will co-star Life’s Too Short‘s Warwick Davis, EastEnders‘ Tamzin Outhwaite, and Being Human‘s Jason Watkins. The episode will be directed by Stephen Woolfenden, a second unit director on some of the Harry Potter films.
Gaiman won a Hugo Award for the last episode he wrote, "The Doctor's Wife," and I'm excited to see his Cybermen episode! The Cybermen have been haunting the crime lord since 1966, and the last time they were seen was in 2011's episode "Closing Time." I love the updated look. The photos were taken by healthytowers.
We also have a photo from the upcoming Christmas special featuring The Doctor looking very serious.
The episode was written by Steven Moffat and will have the Doctor accompanied by his newest companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman. There's still no title for the episode yet, but here's some information about this year's Christmas special,
Following the epic mid-season finale, the Doctor gets in the holiday spirit in the all-new Christmas special written by lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock). Accompanied by his newest companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, the Doctor’s latest adventure through space and time sees him once again crossing paths with the homo-reptilian Silurian Madame Vastra (NeveMcIntosh) and her cohort Jenny (Catrin Stewart). The Doctor Who Christmas Special premieres December 25, 9:00pm ET.
Doctor Who is such an entertining series, if you haven't started watching it yet, you should give it a shot. They're all on Instant Netflix!
