Six years ago a 53-year-old father lost his arm in an accident, and has since been outfitted with an incredible hi-tech Terminator-like bionic arm and hand that is so precise that he can type with it! It's called the Bebionic3, and is made of aluminium and alloy knuckles. It moves like a real human limb by responding to Nigel's muscle twitches. "The robotic arm is so sensitive it means the father-of-one can touch type on a computer keyboard, peel vegetables, and even dress himself for the first time in six years."
The Bebionic3 is a myoelectric prosthetic hand that uses residual neuro-muscular signals from your muscles to operate a number of precise functions.
Featuring a range of 14 hand positions and grips, the Bebionic3 is also offered with a skin-tone glove that approximates the appearance of a real hand.
I'd never want to loose arm, but if one day it gets bitten off by a shark while I'm surfing, then I'd have to get me one of these things. Here's a couple videos showing the impressive Bebionic3 in action! Hopefully it doesn't take over the rest of his body and start the robot apocalypse.
