Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny Peoplecomedy This is 40, which gives us a look at the lives of Pete and Debbie a few years after the events of Knocked Up. The movie stars Paul RuddLeslie MannJason Segel, and Melissa McCarthy with Albert Brooks playing Rudd's dad, which should be great!

This is a much better trailer than the first one. Apatow always tends to make solid comedies with heart, and this looks like it will be entertaining. The movie hits theaters on December 21st, watch the trailer and let us know if you're looking forward to seeing it!

Random: Adam Savage Singing Like Gollum, Wookie On Guitar

The title says it all. Well I guess it doesn't mention that the two do a take on the popular Gloria Gaynor tune "I Will Survive," but only so much can fit in a title man! So the burning question, does the co-host of Mythbusters and the Kashyyyk native pull it off? I think so, but you can tell his voice is hurting near the end. 'A' for effort though, and certified randomness.

Cool Behind the Scenes Footage from PARANORMAN

Laika Entertainment's latest stop-motion animated film ParaNorman looks absolutely amazing. I've enjoyed everything that I've seen from the animated film, and now we get a very cool look at some behind the scenes footage showing us how a stop-motion movie like this is created. I love watching these B-Roll footage videos, and I hope you enjoy this footage from the set of ParaNorman

Here's the full synopsis:

The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company LAIKA, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated "Coraline." "ParaNorman" is, following "Coraline," the company's second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D. In "ParaNorman," a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he'll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

The movie is set to be released on August 17th, 2012, and features the voices of Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Tucker Albrizzi, Alex Borstein, Jodelle Ferland, and Elaine Stritch.

STAND BY ME - Wonderful Fan Made Poster Art

Here's a great piece of fan-made poster art for one of my favorite films of all time... Rob Reiner's adaptation of Stephen King's Stand By Me. It was created by Adam Armstrong, and as soon as I came across it I put on the movie. It's actually been awhile since I've seen it. If for some crazy reason you haven't seen this film yet, please watch it as soon as you can!

Jeremy Renner Discusses Hawkeye Solo Film and THE AVENGERS

It's crazy to watch an actor's career blow up, which is exactly what happened to Jeremy Renner after he made The Hurt Locker. The guy gets to be involved with some incredibly cool movies, and the fact that he was cast as Hawkeye in the Marvel cinematic universe is pretty awesome. The actor recently did an interview with Hero Complex where he talked about the possibility of a Hawkeye solo movie, and being involved with The Avengers.

When asked if we would see a Hawkeye solo film he said,
I don’t know. I think there’s always possibilities of anything in the Marvel universe. There’s gotta be a want from people to see something like that. I don’t know if there is. Maybe there is maybe there isn’t. But who knows? We’ll see.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Hawkeye solo film! I bet it could turn out being just as badass as any of the other Marvel films if done right. He's then asked about The Avengers and what it was like playing both sides,
At the end of the day, 90% of the movie, I’m not the character I signed on to play. I’m literally in there for two minutes, and then all of a sudden… All I could really work on was the physical part of it all, because that didn’t change. That was just the biggest challenge to overcome in playing the guy. Also, we’re pretty much introducing a new superhero character to everyone in a movie where there’s a thousand superheroes. So there’s not a lot of back story or understanding we can really tell about who Clint Barton is, or Hawkeye, and is he working for SHIELD or not. There’s a lot of unanswered questions, even for me. And I was OK with that. At least I was still in the movie. And I was glad for that. The closest thing I could really link to was Scarlett [Johansson's] character, Black Widow, because they have a history. And that definitely plays in the movie, I think. And obviously, you can’t go into too much just because there’s so much story to tell, but you definitely get a sense that they’re connected, and that there’s something really, really important that ties them together. And I could try to summarize it, but it can go a lot of places. That excites me, though, that there’s room for other things.

Which is exactly why it would be great to see a Hawkeye movie! I'd like to see the character fleshed out a bit more in Marvel's movie universe, and I think Marvel should do it some day, I don't see why they wouldn't. Would you want to see a Hawkeye movie?

It seems like he was a little disappointed that he didn't get to really play the character he signed on to play.

Will Ferrell Is Upset About K-Stew and R-Pats

If you read our site and our site only for your news intake then you probably were not aware that actress Kristen Stewart cheated on boyfriend Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, director of Snow White And The Huntsmen. Yeah, heart breaking right? I bet you're really crushed. Anyway, Will Ferrell appeared on Conan recently and had quite a bit to say on the matter. As is classic Ferrell, things get hilarious.

Info on Bane's Origin Sequence Cut from DARK KNIGHT RISES

0
0

One thing I would have liked to see in The Dark Knight Rises was a bit more of origin story for Bane. I would have liked to see what Nolan's version of his origin was. For the most part Bane's background was kind of a mystery, I thought maybe Nolan did that on purpose to keep the character mysterious like his take on The Joker. As it turns out, there were scenes that were shot of Bane's origin, but they ended up being cut out of the final movie edit.

Thanks to the film's costume designer, Lindy Hemming we now know a little bit more about Bane's background, and what we didn't see in the movie. Here's what she had to say in an interview with GQ,

The thing that you should have seen during that sequence is [Bane] being injured in his youth. So one of the fundamental things about his costume is that he has this scar from the back injury. Even if he hasn’t got the bulletproof vest on, he still has to wear the waist belt and the braces. In that scene in the prison, where he’s learning to fight the same way Batman learned to fight, he’s wearing an early version of his waist belt. It’s showing support, but it’s not the finished one he eventually wears. He’s also wearing an early version of his gas mask, all glued together … If you look at the film, unless they’ve cut it—and I’m sure they haven’t—there’s a whole early section for Tom Hardy where he’s fighting and being taunted by people. He’s got chains on him, and he’s standing on a wooden thing while people are attacking him. And in that scene, he’s wearing a much more ragged, primitive version of the mask.

She is then informed that the scene is not in the movie...

Well that’s an awful shame, but I suppose you have to cut things. I won’t elaborate on it too much, because it isn’t in the film, but there was another section that showed you why he had the mask and where it came from.

We can only hope that the scenes will be included as extras on the Blu-ray. The only reason I can think of why they really cut these scenes is to keep the misdirection of who the child really was in the prison, because we were supposed to think the kid was Bane. Well that, and the movie would have been over 3 hours long.

Also, here are a few designs released by artist Sebastian Lochmann, via CBM, that show us what the scars on Bane's back looks like.

Joss Whedon Set to Write and Direct THE AVENGERS 2!

0
0

I actually wasn't sure if Joss Whedon would come back to write and direct the sequel to his mega hit The Avengers. He just seemed like he wanted to work on some original projects. He did have this to say in a previous interview,

It’s an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else’s story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it. But at the same time, I have a bunch of ideas, and they all seem really cool.

I hoped he would come back! I'm happy to report that he is most definitely officially back on board with Marvel and Disney, and he will be bringing The Avengers 2 to the big screen! The news was confirmed by Disney. He also revealed in another interview what he would do with a sequel if he did it...

By not trying to. By being smaller. More personal, more painful. By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself.

I want to know what makes them tick, what makes them flawed, what makes them fight - and ultimately, what makes them awesome. I go to these movies for those moments when the heroes define themselves, either through action or deliciously overwritten speeches.

Not only will Whedon be involved the sequel to The Avengers, but he will also help in developing the Avengers-themed TV series that ABC and Marvel are talking about developing.

I'm so excited that Disney and Marvel got Whedon back. We can now officially expect to see yet another epically badass Avengers movie!

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA - 7 New Character Posters

Sony Pictures Animation has released this set of new character posters for director Genndy Tartakovsky's comedy film project Hotel Transylvania. I especially like the poster for the Invisible Man.

The movie looks like it will be fun, I've enjoyed Tartakovsky's other work throughout the years. The film features the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Cee-Lo Green, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon and Jon Lovitz

The movie hits theaters on September 28th, and here's the synopsis:

Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula's lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free from meddling from the human world. But here's a little known fact about Dracula: he is not only the Prince of Darkness; he is also a dad. Over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis, Dracula fabricates tales of elaborate dangers to dissuade her adventurous spirit. As a haven for Mavis, he opens the Hotel Transylvania, where his daughter and some of the world's most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – can kick back in safety and peace. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.

Hailee Steinfeld Cast in DEAD OF WINTER Thriller

0
0

True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld is attached to star in a new thriller called Dead of Winter. Music Video and commercial director Anthony Mandler will be developing the feature film from a Black List script written by Sarah Conradt.

Steinfeld will play "a teen who heads to a remote cabin in the mountains with her father and new stepmother -- an experience he hopes will bring the two ladies closer together. When a dangerous fugitive posing as a park ranger shows up, the trio must put aside the family bonding to fight for survival."

What better way to bond with your family than through working together to surviving a murderous maniac park ranger! I'm sure there will be some good quality time running around, hiding, and setting up traps. It's like arts and crafts time, but they're trying to kill someone with the crafts they make.

Steinfeld is a very talented young actress who just wrapped filming on Ender's Game and Romeo and Juliet. As for Mandler, he's directed music videos for Rihanna, Jay-Z and Eminem. This will be his first feature film.

Poster and Photos for the Nicolas Cage Thriller STOLEN

0
0

There's not many movies I come across where I can look at a poster and photos and know for a fact that I don't want to see it. This new Nicolas Cage movie Stolen is one of them. It sounds like a Taken rip-off, only instead of an ex-CIA agent, it's an ex-con, and the daughter is being held captive in a hijacked Taxi. It just sounds awful, here's the synopsis:

Master thief Will Montgomery is just released from the State penitentiary after serving a 10 year sentence, is contacted by Jonah, his ex comrade in crime, who is holding Will’s teenage daughter ransom in a hijacked taxi cab. Jonah will only surrender her when Will reveals the whereabouts of the 20 million dollars he contrived to conceal from their last robbery.

The movie also stars Malin Akerman and Josh Lucas, who I both like, but they aren';t enough to make me want to see this movie. Especially after seeing the weird one legged badboy villain make over they gave Lucas. Seriously... how the hell does a movie like this get made?

I guess it's a paycheck for everyone involved. Well... except for the interns.

BLADE RUNNER - Fictional Magazine Art Used in Movie

Here's a great collection of fictional magazine cover art from Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi film Blade Runner. The art was created by production illustrator Tom Southwell in 1980-1981 and appeared in the background of the film on a magazine stand in the city streets.

It's so awesome that after all of these years we can still come across cool stuff we've never really seen from these classic movies that we've come to love.

Ron Howard's RUSH - 6 New Photos with Chris Hemsworth

Six new photos have been released for Ron Howard's Formula One racing film Rush. The images feature Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as James Hunt and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds) as Niki Lauda. The script was written by Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), and it also stars Jessica Chastain and Oliva Wilde (Tron: Legacy).

I don't know much about Formula One racing, but I love the films Howard makes, and so far this looks like it will be a great and exciting movie. Are you looking forward to seeing this movie? I just Hope Howard is able to direct The Dark Tower as soon as he's done with this on.

Synopsis:

Two-time Academy Award® winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon), teams once again with fellow two-time Academy Award® nominee, writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), on Rush, a spectacular big-screen re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

Rush hits theaters September 20th, 2013.

Here's a previously released behind the scenes video of the film:
